History of
Oriade
Oriade LCDA was created in 2003, carved out of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area as part of Lagos State's drive to bring governance closer to the grassroots. Since its establishment, the council has been led by a succession of executive chairmen each shaping its growth, infrastructure, and identity across the Badagry Division.

The pioneer started as executive secretary in 2003 then became chairman 2004. His administration laid the foundational structures of governance, establishing key administrative systems and guiding the early development of the newly created council.
Served as Executive Chairman between 2008 and 2014, overseeing a period of expanding infrastructure and community-focused development. His administration contributed to road improvements, grassroots engagement, and strengthening local governance across the wards.
Served as Executive Secretary from July 2014 to 2016 during a transitional administrative period. Her tenure focused on maintaining governance continuity and overseeing council operations pending the return to elected leadership. Daughter of Late Alhaji Mumuni Badmus a veteran political leader. She was also a former Deputy Speaker of Lagos State.
Appointed as Sole Administrator under Governor Akinwunmi Ambode's administration during the transition period between elected councils.
The first female Executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA, elected in July 2017 and re-elected in July 2021, serving two consecutive terms spanning eight years. A former Lagos State House of Assembly member, her administration championed road reconstruction, security improvements, free health missions, school renovations, and women empowerment programmes. Oriade LCDA won the 2021 Cleanest Community Award in Lagos State under her leadership. She presided over the commissioning of four major road projects by Governor Sanwo-Olu in January 2025, including the reconstructed Old Ojo Road and Irede Road.
Sworn in on 27 July 2025 at the Sports Ground of the Governor's Office, Ikeja, following the Lagos State local government elections. His administration comes into office with high expectations from all 7 wards from the Atlantic-facing riverine communities of Ilashe and Ibeshe to the urban settlements of Agboju and Satellite Town. His priorities include completing the 78-metre Imoore Ilashe bridge, activating long-promised primary healthcare centres in riverine wards, youth empowerment, and continuing the infrastructure momentum of his predecessor.
